The medical aesthetics industry has taken off over the past few years. “Med spas” are popping up on every corner with more popping up every day. With their beautiful settings and relaxing atmospheres, they all seem quite appealing! If everyone offers the same services and similar products, it can be a real challenge finding the spa that will best serve your needs. So, how do YOU decide which spa is right for you? Your face and your body are important and the decision of where to go and who to trust is too.
Here are a few important things to consider when choosing your provider:
Read the spa’s reviews on Facebook, YELP and Google. Check out their website and social media posts. Ask your family, friends, and co-workers for recommendations. Most importantly, inquire about their education and training. No one is an “expert” if they have only been doing injections for 1-2 years. The ONLY choice is a provider who has a professional education and state license. Continual seminars, workshops, and training to keep up with the latest trends, technology, and techniques are essential as well as knowledge of anatomy both for realistic results AND safety. Believe me, far worse things could happen than crazy duck lips.
Following up after a service is how quality providers know they have done a good job. They follow up to make sure you are happy and that your results meet the expectations that you discussed thoroughly at your consult. Before and after photos offer patients the means to SEE the results.
There is a good chance that the same person who did their Botox and lips will be doing yours. If you do not like the looks of the staff, odds are, you won’t like your results either.
A knowledgeable team is actually one of the best indicators that you have found the right place for you. When the staff “knows their stuff,” it shows that a priority has been placed on educating everybody, so that YOU will receive the best information and care possible. When the entire staff is invested in understanding each step of your aesthetic journey, your experience will be far better.
One of the many reasons that a specific provider is amazing is due to the education, training and time they have invested in their learning. All of that costs money, and let me tell you, it is expensive. In order to get the very best, you sometimes have to pay more. If a spa advertisement sounds too good to be true – it probably is. You do get what you pay for!
I did not write this because I think everyone should come see me nor do I think I am the ONLY provider that meets the above criteria. There are certainly other quality injectors out there. I am writing because I see so many patients who did not follow these tips and then they are coming to me to fix their issues. It is always better to do it right the first time. With all of the options these days, please, research, ask questions, and be aware because you deserve nothing but the BEST!
